Excel Training: Dynamic Array Intro

Intro to the World of Excel Dynamic Arrays

Discover the latest power functions in Microsoft Excel 365. Fast. Robust. Effortless. Elevate your data game now!

Overview

Over the past 18 months Microsoft has rolled out a whole suite of new Dynamic Array functions. These will completely revolutionise how business professionals will use Microsoft Excel. Dynamic Arrays streamline calculations, improve efficiency and enhance data analysis capabilities, making it a powerful tool for working with datasets and complex formulas. The market is calling it a ‘Game Changer’.
This workshop has been created to help you understand how Dynamic Arrays work and know how you can employ them effectively into your daily routines. You may be inspired to upgrade much of what you already use or build out solutions you know you need but didn’t quite know how to achieve.

Is this course right for me?

Targeting financial modellers, data analysts, data processors, investment analysts and accountants in Banks, Investment Funds, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Finance Departments and anyone who uses Excel on a daily basis or builds solutions for others to use.
If you are an intermediate or advanced Excel user this workshop is a must. What used to take an entire worksheet can now be done in a single cell; calculation tables can be condensed to single rows and time periods extend dynamically – all without any Visual Basic code. This will change the entire way you currently use Excel saving countless hours and enabling the creation of far more sophisticated models.

This course covers similar content to Dynamic Array Kickstarter but goes into less depth.

Learning outcomes

1. Be confident to dive into Dynamic Arrays knowing when best to use them and what they can be used for.
2. Gain the foundation on which to build your own expertise and enable you to extend your knowledge.
3. Be able to impart your knowledge to others.
4. Gain the ability to condense complex solutions into easy-to-create functions.
5. Create an entire dynamic depreciation schedule in a single row.

What is Covered?

As part of this course, you will gain an understanding of Dynamic Arrays and how to:

1. extract unique values which can be sorted and filtered in a single formula.
2. create sequences to build dates or periods or iterate over data.
3. transpose ranges and tables and extract just the required columns and rows.
4. create arrays using MAKEARRAY.
5. sum, rank, count across Dynamic Arrays.
6. combine or split Dynamic Arrays.
7. use the LET function to create complex formula easily.
8. create your own reusable dynamic functions using LAMBDA.
9. combine new Dynamic Array functions with previously available functions.
